Difficult Diagnosis and Diseases needs more effort and interdisciplinary interaction between doctors of different specialized areas. Such interdisciplinary work brings professionals with different skills and expertise together and find find solutions for difficult cases. In industrialized countries this will be managed through different boards of interdisciplinary experts, such as “Tumor Board”, “Vascular Board”, “Endocrine Board” etc. A 2018 study by the U.S. National Cancer Institute, published in the Annals of Surgical Oncology, demonstrated that re-evaluation by multidisciplinary cancer teams resulted in changes to diagnosis or treatment plans in 43% of cases. This is also great opportunity to learn from each other.
The boards of interdisciplinary experts in developing countries are not consistent nationwide. Initiative for Difficult Diagnosis aim to transfer the experience of industrial countries in interdisciplinary work to low and middle income countries using the potential of native speaking specialists and work together with local doctors to find solution for difficult dieases of using the advantage of Telehealth and providing educational activities among local doctors in the fields of difficult diagnosis.
